BAM, BYGB/ISGB 7975, Spring 2023 – Proposal – Storytelling Matrix Preparation
Instructions
1. For each of the (20 charts – 4 group members; 25 charts – 5 group members; 15 charts – 3
group members), 1 statistical model, and 1 machine learning model, do the following.
2. We want to develop a matrix of storytelling with visualization as part of PROPOSAL due on
April 5, 2023.
3. 3. Typically, analytics/charts are between independent—–→dependent variables.
4. All group members must work together to develop this matrix. It should be cohesive,
integrated and answer the overall research question.
5. For implementation, each team member will do 5 Tableau charts, at a minimum.
6. There should be good balance between descriptive and predictive analytics. *
*no charts for Proposal.
7. Each chart can be used only once (you can repeat a chart only for different
variables/hypothesis; in any case, cannot have more than 2 of each chart).
8. All data must be included in each analytic, not bits and pieces.
9. All variables must be analyzed.
10. Have at least 2 drill-down or drill up charts in your report.
11. For statistical model, include descriptive statistics and one ANOVA or Regression model; for
the machine learning, include one machine learning model, e.g., a neural network with
multiple experiments, or clustering/classification, or logistic regression, etc.
12. This matrix is no more than 2-4 pages in length. Reduce font size to 10 within table.
