1. The following chart shows a fairly typical daily intake for Timothy, age four and a
half. Consider this daily pattern in terms of balance between calcium and
phosphorus. Overall, is anything else missing, what should be added or taken away?
Which foods provide calcium? Which foods provide phosphorus? Change the
Timothy’s menu to eliminate the phosphorus/calcium imbalance and to make it
overall healthier. What other foods would improve Timothy’s calcium intake if he
refuses to drink milk?
